Welcome from Mrs. Gordon

Education

I attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Middle Level Education with a specialization in Mathematics. I also received a certification in Secondary Mathematics and Middle Level Science. I am currently pursuing a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Gannon University.
Courses Taught

I currently teach sixth grade mathematics. “6th Grade Math” is an in-depth core math class aligned to the PA State Standards in preparation for the 6th Grade PSSA Math Exam. While subject to change, the PSSA tests are administered in late April, so the majority of course content will be covered within the first three 9 weeks, followed by a rigorous review.
Work Experience

Early in my professional career, I worked as a fifth grade mathematics and social studies teacher at Amos K. Hutchinson Elementary School in Greensburg, PA. I was hired at Derry Area School District in 2018 to teach high school Geometry and Pre-Calculus as a long term substitute teacher. I was, then, hired full time to teach eighth grade science. In the 2019-2020 school year, I was transferred to teach sixth grade mathematics.
