Welcome from Mr. Roble

I graduated from Greater Latrobe High School and went on to attend Penn State University where I earned a Bachelor’s of Music Education Degree with a concentration in Percussion.  While at Penn State, I was in the percussion section of The Penn State Marching Blue Band for 4 years.  I have also completed graduate coursework at St. Vincent college while working towards a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction.  I hold an Instructional II Certification for K-12 Music.

I teach many courses at both the Middle School and High School as well as lead extra-curricular activities.  During the school day, I teach 6th Grade Band, 7th Grade Band, 8th Grade Band, General Music, High School Concert Band, High School Jazz Band, High School Guitar classes, and Music Theory.  I am the Director of the Derry Area High School Marching Band, the Auditorium Coordinator for the district, Director of the Trojan Pep Band, and the Set Design and Construction Coordinator.

Work History/Background

I was hired at Derry Area in 2013 to teach Music.  Prior to being hired, I was a substitute teacher in both the Derry and Latrobe School Districts.  Outside of school, I teach private percussion lessons and am an active performer.  I perform in the Pit Orchestra for various school and community theater productions in the area.  I am also a founding member of the Pittsburgh Steeline, the official drumline of the Pittsburgh Steelers.  We perform at every home game and at various community parades and events in the Pittsburgh area.
