Welcome to Mrs. Foster's 4th Grade Class!
Education
I attended the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and a Pennsylvania Teacher Certification in 2009. I earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction Degree from Clarion University in 2013. I also completed additional credits from Concordia University at St. Paul throughout the last year focusing on Sustained Silent Reading, Read Alouds, and Engaging Online Learners.
Work Experience
For the first eight years of my professional career (2009-2017), I worked as a first grade teacher in the Derry Area School District. I was blessed with the opportunity to teach at both Loyalhanna Elementary School and New Derry Elementary School to start my career, followed by transitioning to the newly renovated Grandview Elementary School. From 2017 until present, I have enjoyed being a fourth grade English/Language Arts teacher! During the 2018-2019 school year I was self-contained, which allowed me to also teach the 4th grade Mathematics and Science curriculum.
