Special Services Overview
The Office of Special Services provides a variety of resources that support the special needs of students. The department coordinates the services of school psychologists, gifted/talented teachers, school counselors, special education staff, and school nurses to assist in consultation, referral, evaluation and educational programming. Collaboration with the Directory of Elementary and Secondary Curriculum and the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit (WIU) ensures that all students have access to the appropriate educational curriculum.
Supportive Services Available
- SCHOOL NURSE - Student general health and welfare.
- COUNSELING SERVICES - Full-time elementary, middle, and high school counselors work with children, parents and teachers.
- SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST - Individual psychological testing, parent - teacher consultation.
- TITLE I READING - Supplemental reading services with emphasis upon remediation.
